Trading in the edible oils market lacked lustre on Friday as prices continued to decline in the futures market and demand remained slack. . There was no bulk buying by stockists as prices are plunging each passing day.
On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, all major edible oils prices dropped further in the range of ₹5-15 for 10 kg with imported palmolein and soya oil losing ₹9-10. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹495-407 and super palmolein ₹517. Ruchi traded palmolein for ₹493, soyabean refined oil ₹631 and sunflower refined oil ₹645. Allana’s rates: palmolein ₹494, soyabean refined oil ₹634, sunflower oil ₹647.
In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin declined by ₹10 to ₹1,550 and loose (10 kg) dropped to ₹990.
BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 990 (990), soya refined oil 630 (640), sunflower exp. ref. 600 (610), sunflower ref. 640 (645), rapeseed ref. oil 765 (770), rapeseed expeller ref. 735 (740), cottonseed ref. oil 570 (585) and palmolein 491 (500).
