The volume with Maharashtra’s sugar mills remained negligible for second consecutive day as producers kept the prices higher while resale was available at ₹60-80 a quintal lower. Prices at the Vashi market dropped by ₹20-30 as local demand remained subdued. Naka rates were also down by ₹50-70. Morale was weak as stockists stayed away from fresh bulk bets. Arrivals were about 55-56 truck loads and local dispatches were at 57-58 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,560-3,682 (3,600-3,692) and M-grade ₹3,622-3,762 (3,622-3,802). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,530-3,610 (3,580-3,680) and M-grade ₹3,600-3,700 (3,620-3,780).
