Spot sugar prices ruled steady for S-grade and increased by ₹20 a quintal for M-grade. Continuous and ample supply kept activities need-based and routine in spot. Naka rates were mixed with fine variety ruling ₹10 higher and fair quality ₹10 lower. Mill tender rates were unchanged on slack physical demand. Arrivals at the Vashi market were higher at 60-62 truckloads and local dispatches were 57-58 loads. On Saturday evening, hardly 5-7 mills able to sell about 18,000-20,000 bags at ₹2,950-3,010 (₹2,950-3,010) for S-grade and ₹3,050-3,170 (₹3,050-3,170) for M-grade.
Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,100-3,222 (₹3,100-3,222) and M-grade ₹3,222-3,382 (₹3,202-3,382). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,020-3,150 (₹3,030-3,110) and M-grade ₹3,140- 3,270 (₹3,130-3,270).
