Spot turmeric prices at Erode markets are up a tad as some traders received a few North Indian orders. Only medium quality arrived for sale and the traders purchased more than 70 per cent.
The price of the finger variety increased by ₹300 a quintal and the root variety by ₹350. Of the arrival of 2,300 bags, 70 per cent stocks were sold. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger variety was sold at ₹7,444-9,009; the root variety ₹7,233-8,000. Out of the 592 bags offered, 622 were sold.
