After witnessing a continuous fall over the last few days, prices of dara wheat and flour managed to maintain their previous quoted levels on Friday.
Radhey Shayam, a trade expert, told Business Line that restricted trading coupled with steady domestic demand kept dara wheat and flour prices unaltered. Traders expect dara prices to continue ruling around current levels for the next couple of days and may witness a fall next week, he said.
In the physical market, dara wheat sold at ₹1,535-40 a quintal. Around 800 bags of wheat arrived and stocks were directly offloaded at the mills. Mill delivery was at ₹1,535, while delivery at the chakki was at ₹1,540.A negative tone was witnessed on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange. April contracts went down by ₹6 to ₹1,521 with an open interest of 3,160 lots. May contracts dropped by ₹2 to ₹1,530.
Following a steady trend in wheat, flour too ruled flat at ₹1,735 . Similarly, Chokar was unchanged at ₹1,210 a quintal.
