Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened higher at Rs 32,247 per 10 grams on Monday against the previous close of Rs 31,248.
December contract made a high of Rs 32,445 and low of Rs 32,242. It was trading up by 0.42 per cent at Rs 32,400 at 12.55 p.m.
In Comex, the yellow metal for December delivery was trading lower by $2 at $1,750.
Though fundamentals support domestic prices, the appreciation of rupee against dollar has restricted any sharp movement in gold prices.
