Tracking a weak trend in precious metals in global market, silver prices fell Rs 156 to Rs 39,368 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators reduced their exposures.
Silver for delivery in July was down by Rs 156 or 0.39 per cent to Rs 39,368 per kg at the futures trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange. It clocked a business volume of 580 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month September fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 39,882 per kg in a business turnover of six lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking at prevailing levels, a subdued trend overseas led to a fall in silver prices at the futures trade here.
In the international market, silver traded lower at $17.21 an ounce in Singapore from $17.12.
