Lafarge India Pvt Ltd has informed Birla Corporation of its inability to proceed with the agreement for the sale of the Jojobera and Sonadih cement plants of the latter. Birla Corporation has now informed the exchanges that it has discussed the matter with its legal advisors and has decided not to accept Lafarge’s contention and is in the process of taking appropriate legal measures. Shares of Birla Corp tumbled 3.55 per cent at ₹387.20 on the BSE.
