Lupin on Wednesday said its US-based subsidiary Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc has launched its generic of Janssen Pharmaceuticals Inc’s contraceptive drug Ortho Tri-Cyclen in the US. Lupin will sell the generic tablets — a combination of norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol — in strengths of 0.18 mg/0.035 mg, 0.215 mg/0.035 mg and 0.25 mg/0.035 mg. According to IMS Health data, Ortho Tri-Cyclen recorded sales of $177.6 million in the US in the year ended March. Shares of Lupin ended 1.25 per cent higher at ₹1,715.15 on the NSE.
