The South central zone of Life Insurance Corporation of India has crossed the ₹2,000-crore mark in new business premium income earned so far in the current financial year. The zone, comprising Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, has mobilised 12.35 lakh policies. “The total new business premium procured is ₹2,035 crore. The zone had achieved 47.42 per cent of the annual premium target and registered a growth of 67.33 per cent in new business premium income,” LIC said in a release issued here on Thursday.In respect of total premium income, the zone now occupies third position in LIC, which has eight zones overall.
