Two campuses of RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group-sponsored International Management Institute (IMI) in New Delhi and Kolkata are on the threshold of receiving accreditation from National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

IMI Director Arindam Banik told BusinessLine that the NBA teams had already inspected the facilities at the campuses. “The accreditations are expected in a week’s time”, he added.

Banik said it would open up avenues for certain expansion. “IMI Kolkata would be able to start Ph.D (research fellowship) programme from the forthcoming academic year beginning July,” he said. NBA accreditation is a precondition for any approval for expansion from the All-India Council for Technical Education.

He said IMI Kolkata would also launch a two-year MBA programme on energy management from July. The New Delhi campus of IMI planned to expand its capacity in general management course. “We plan to increase the total number of seats from the present 180 to 240 in New Delhi in the 2-year PGDM course from the forthcoming academic year”, Banik added.
