Style, convenience and the comfort of living in modern apartments are here to stay, and builders are looking at value-added options, according to Ksheer Vasudha Kumar, Director, Navin Housing.

Inaugurating the Construction Architecture Interior (CAI) 2015 fair organised by BusinessLine , Kumar said the Chennai landscape is changing with the rapid growth of industry and economic development, which in turn is driving demand for housing across the spectrum. The entire range — from affordable housing to high-end housing premium products — is needed and there is a market for it, she said in an interaction with BusinessLine .

The three-day CAI 2015, which opened on Friday, showcases a comprehensive range of products and services. On display are the varied options available in the market today — from concrete and glass products to home accessories, fancy and utilitarian fittings, furniture, artificial greenery, trellis work and security systems.

Sandeep Singh Sandhu, AVP, JSW Cement, recalled the boost that CAI 2014 gave to his company’s products last year. “We got over 18,000 enquiries from consumers and professionals such as engineers, architects and service providers,” he said.

“That is the reason we are back again with CAI 2015,” he said, adding that he looks forward to the next three days.

SK Chandrasekaran, Vice-President, Kamai Elevators, said the first day of the event had gone well. Professionals and end users are coming in and Kamai has high expectations for the next two days, he added. CAI 2015 has over 70 participants showcasing their products and services at the Chennai Trade Centre.
