The irrepressible Anu Menon, aka Lola Kutty, had the audience in splits on a Friday evening as she regaled them with tales of the most stupefying gifts she received on her wedding day.

Right on top of her list, was a baby cactus, a gift from a close relative that came with a note saying, “May you nurture it, and may it represent your love.” Digs like these and more were in store for those who attended The Art of Gifting, a soiree of cocktails, conversation and comedy presented by Business Line and CherryTin at The Park.

The actor-cum-stand-up comedian seemed to be on top of her game as she took apart the lazy manner in which people tried to pass off junk as gifts, like “tacky showpieces” and “a tray of dry fruits and nuts that tasted like sawdust.”

But jokes aside, the get-together was an occasion to showcase the offerings of Cherrytin.com, a destination gifting site, which offers customers the gamut of premium gifts for corporate, personal and bridal needs.
