Demonetisation has been an ordeal for Phulwati from Alwar district. A daily-wage agricultural labourer, she finds her payments being paid in fits and starts. “It is very difficult to carry on like this, but my employer says he is helpless as he can only withdraw a limited amount from the bank,” she says as she uses her spade in a field full of onion plants.
