The Hinduja Group flagship firm, Ashok Leyland, today reported a 4.63 per cent decline in total commercial vehicle sales to 8,009 units in June compared with the same month the previous year.
The company had sold 8,398 units in the same month of 2010, a company statement said.
Domestic sales stood at 6,824 units in June (7,497 units), down 8.98 per cent.
Exports, however, increased 31.52 per cent to 1,185 units last month from 901 units in the year-ago period.
The company also reported a 8.36 per cent fall in total domestic sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles to 6,783 units (7,402 units).
