Canon India has announced entry into the cinematography imaging business domain targeting Bollywood and broadcast applications with its new cinema EOS product line. The company unveiled three advanced Cinema EOS range cameras, including the EOS C300, EOS C500 and EOS 1D-C, along with 11 new Cinema EOS lenses. The company’s EOS 5D Mark II digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera, launched in November 2008, is already being used in the production of Hollywood motion pictures and television programs and Bollywood flicks, including Stanley Ka Dabba , and the more recent Department and Agent Vinod . Speaking on the occasion, Dr Alok Bharadwaj, Senior Vice-President, Canon India, said, “Our camera business is growing at 60 per cent in India in 2012. In accordance with this growth strategy, cinematography is a new domain that we will focus on. We expect it to contribute five per cent toward our top line in 2013.”
