The public sector FACT has bettered its performance both in production and sales during July 2013. The production of Factamfos, the largest selling complex fertiliser in South India, touched 67,793 tonnes in July against 48,365 tonnes in the same period last year. Likewise, production of ammonium sulphate, the second major fertiliser from FACT, also went up substantially from 9,450 tonnes in July 2012 to 16,846 tonnes. While sale of Factamfos went up to 71,650 tonnes from 51,498 tonnes, marketing of Ammonium Sulphate also witnessed brisk activities with the total sales crossing 16,070 tonnes compared to previous year’s 12,265 tonnes. The combined sale of all the fertilisers, which includes bagged gypsum, mixtures etc, besides Factamfos and Ammonium Sulphate, went up to 1,02,509 tonnes compared to 73,121 tonnes of the previous year. The total sale of all products including bulk gypsum stood at 1,37,541 tonnes against 1,23,848 tonnes. The sales turnover went up to Rs 229.92 crore from Rs 181.41 crore.
