Titan Industries Ltd has informed the Bombay stock Exchange (BSE) that Mr Harish Bhat, Chief Operating Officer (Watches), will be taking a sabbatical from work for a period of nine months starting April 1 to write a book on the Tata Group. Consequently, Mr H. G. Raghunath, at present the Chief Manufacturing Officer of the Watches Division and who has been with the unit for 25 years, will succeed Mr Bhat as COO of the division.
Additionally, Mr L. R. Natarajan, at present the Chief Manufacturing Officer of the Jewellery Division, who has also been spearheading the innovation initiatives in the company, will lead the business development function of the company as COO. Both the appointments are effective April 1, the company has said.
Mr Harish Bhat, a prolific writer for various publications, is a regular columnist for Business Line and Brand Line on brands and marketing strategy. Mr Bhat, 49, a BITS Pilani graduate and a gold medallist from IIM-A, is a member of the Tata Administrative Service and has spent 25 years with the Tata group.
