The fifth season of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw an improvement in television ratings as it inched closer to the grand finale.
According to the latest data released by TAM Sports, the average rating of 73 matches which includes the semi finals stood at 3.36. This was just 4 per cent lower than the fourth season. An average rating for 73 matches in the fourth season was 3.51.
This data was for a pan India sample size of viewers above the age of four in cable and satellite television homes.
Media planners have indicated that the ratings for the fifth season are expected to be similar to the previous season. The final match TV viewership ratings are expected to come out only next week.
