Boosted by higher trading volumes, PTC India Ltd reported an increase in net profit at Rs 37.96 crore for the third quarter of the current fiscal, up from Rs 15.88 crore for the same period in 2009-10.
Trading volume during the quarter increased 31 per cent to 5,813 million units compared with 4,444 million units for Q3 of FY 2009-10. The company's total income was up 4 per cent at Rs 1,758 crore against 1,697.6 crore in the same period in 2009-10, a company statement said here.
The PTC stock closed Wednesday's trade on the BSE at Rs 84.10 per share, down nearly 10 per cent.
