Reliance Infrastructure has energised three new extra high voltage (EHV) sub-stations of 220 KV each in Mumbai. The company is into power transmission and distribution in the city.
RInfra said the commissioning of the sub-stations would help reduce losses and match increasing demand.
The company said there had been no significant capacity addition to the Mumbai transmission system despite continuous growth in demand. This had stretched the existing system to the maximum extent. The current addition would ease the congestion in availability of HT (High Tension) outlets to distribution utilities.
With this, RInfra has six extra high voltage sub-stations.
