Boosted by premium real estate sales of Rs 30.54 crore, UB (Holdings) Ltd posted income of Rs 103.41 crore during Q1 of 2011-12. The company had income of Rs 68.64 crore in the same period last year. A 25.7 per cent jump in expenditure caused a 76 per cent dent in the company's net profits, which stood at Rs 1.88 crore (Rs 7.77 crore). Total expenditure was Rs 56.83 crore (Rs 45.22 crore).
During the quarter, the company informed the BSE that construction activity in the development of its luxury residential project, Kingfisher Towers, has started and its share of super built-up area would be 4.18 lakh sq.ft. Alcoholic beverages sales contributed Rs 31.9 crore (Rs 22.69 crore) and property development gave Rs 30.54 crore (Rs 8.04 crore).
