Sterlite Technologies Limited, a provider of connectivity solutions for the power and telecom industries, has received two new contracts from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for manufacture and supply of power conductors, taking the total orders received by the company from various customers since July 1 to Rs 450 crore.
While one contract for Sterlite power conductors was for use in the Champa-Raipur pooling station transmission line in Chattisgarh designed for high voltage power transmission, the other was for Sterlite power conductors for use in Kishnganj-Patna Line intended to evacuate power from hydroelectric generation projects in Sikkim to the Northern and Western regions of the country.
The two contracts are valued about Rs 225 crore and are among the new orders valued at about Rs 450 crore that Sterlite has received since July 1, 2011.
