On the occasion, Mr. Karthikeyan said Vijay Nirman had set excellent standards in the construction industry and undertaken and successfully completed many works all over the country.
Dr Vijaya Kumarsaid the company, set up in 1982, could achieve turnover of Rs 842 crore by the end of 2010-11 financial year and “during this financial year we may cross the Rs 1,000-crore mark and achieve Rs 1,100 crore or so.” He said the company had on hand works worth Rs 1,600 crore and was executing many prestigious projects in different States.

Lack of skilled personnel
One of the problems plaguing the infrastructure sector is the lack of skilled personnel. We have the capital and we have the appropriate construction technologies, but we often suffer for want of skilled personnel. That is why we set up a training institute here at Sagarnagar,” he said.
Since inception, the company had, so far, completed 400 construction projects all over the country without once going into arbitration on any issue, he said. The ISO and OHSAS certificates would enable the company to get more works and execute them well, he added.
Mr K.S.N. Prasad, lead auditor, and Mr Ajay Kumar, Director, also spoke on the occasion.
