Mr Prashant Mene, an officer in the Indian Navy here, has won a car in a contest conducted by HPCL as a part of its sales campaign.

The car - Chevrolet Beat - was presented at a function in the millennium outlet of the HPCL at Siripuram Junction here on Tuesday by Mr G. Chiranjeevi, Deputy General Manager, South Central zone. He said seven such cars would be presented to winners in different parts of the country. The participants would have to buy petrol at the millennium outlets of HPCL and send an SMS message.

Mr Chiranjeevi said HPCL had also opened another company-owned outlet — Millennium Plus — at Mulagada near here in the petro park to cater to the needs of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust and adjoining industries.

He said works were going on at brisk pace at the petro park at Mulagada. HPCL was investing nearly Rs 1,000 crore in the park for constructing an oil storage facility, LPG filling facility and for a railway siding. He said almost 90 per cent of the works had been completed and in a few months' time it may become operational after obtaining safety certification.
