The Vice-Chairman, Tata Steel Ltd and Chairman, Tata International Ltd, Mr B. Muthuraman, has been elected President of the Confederation of Indian Industry for 2011-12
Mr Muthuraman who joined Tata Steel in 1966 and has held various positions in the company is a B. Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Madras. Mr Muthuraman also holds an MBA degree from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Mr Muthuraman is on the boards of several companies including Bosch Ltd, Tata Industries and Strategic Energy Technology Systems Pvt. Ltd. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Governors of XLRI, Jamshedpur, and National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur. Mr Muthuraman is a member of the Business Advisory Council of Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific .
The Chairman, Godrej Group, Mr Adi Godrej, has been elected as CII President Designate for 2011-12, while the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Infosys Mr S Gopalakrishnan, been elected as Vice-President of CII for 2011-2012.
