With the exports to Europe and the UK coming down, Chennai-based Bachi Shoes Limited, a subsidiary of Tata International Limited, is looking at the US market for furthering its growth.
Speaking at the sidelines of the launch of its new footwear collection, Muthukumaran V, Chief Executive Officer, Bachi Shoes, said the exports to the European market has become tough as their economy is down. “We are looking at other countries, especially the US, for our growth, as many of our current customers have business there,” he said. The company is also considering Australia and other South East Asian countries.
The company manufacturers 2.5 million pairs of shoes per annum and has a turnover of $50 million. It exports almost 99 per cent of its total production to Europe and the UK.
