US-headquartered Andersen Global, an international entity with member firms focussed on tax and legal services, will soon enter the Indian market as part of its expansion efforts into Asia.

New avatar

Corporate circles see Andersen Global as the new avatar of the erstwhile Arthur Andersen, which ended its role as an auditor of public companies in August 2002 in the wake of the Enron accounting scandal in 2000.

This time around, the focus in India, as in other markets, will only be as tax and legal advisory services, not auditing, it is learnt.

Andersen Global is looking to frame strategic collaboration with two Indian firms, one for tax (CA firm) and the other for legal advisory (law firm), sources close to the development said.

A formal announcement on the tie-ups is expected in the next two days, they said.

Andersen Global was established in 2013 by its US member firm Andersen Tax LLC.

It has more than 2,500 professionals worldwide and a presence in over 103 locations through its member firms and collaborating firms.

The India connect

From an initial base of 30-35 Indian professional firms, six firms have been shortlisted by Andersen Global as part of a procedure that lasted for over a year.

The six firms on the shortlist are believed to be SKP, ASA, Dhruva, Khaitan & Co, Nangia & Co, and Vaish Associates, sources said.

Of these, two firms will be identified for the collaboration agreements, it is learnt.
