Coal India and Indian Railways have jointly succeeded in loading 250 coal rakes on November 14. This is an all-time high achievement for the month of November, according to an official statement. Of these rakes, 223 rakes were exclusively loaded for thermal power stations. CIL and Railways are now aiming to load 266 coal rakes a day in November. Normally, loading at such levels are attained from late December when the onset of favourable environment helps in ramping up coal production. This achievement has been in spite of the continuation of sporadic rains in some of the coalfields.
