CP BRO apparel brand, aimed at the youth segment, hopes to make an impact on the market, according to Ramesh Kheni, Director (Retail).

He was speaking here on Friday after launching the first CP BRO store at Dwarakanagar. He said the brand, aimed at the 18-27 age group, was being launched in the city in view of its potential. "The youth segment is growing at 38 per cent per annum and the apparel industry in general at 25-28 per cent. We have nearly a 100 Classic Polo stores all across the country and the CP BRO collection, we hope, will prove as popular," he said.

The Tirupur-based company has an export turnover of roughly Rs 600 crore and domestic sales of Rs 150-175 crore. "We are focusing on tier-two cities and we will soon go to Hyderabad and Vijayawada as well," he said and added that the company has its own manufacturing facility set up at a cost of Rs 100 crore.

On the impact of demonetisation, Ramesh said it was only a short-term disruption and the company had escaped the impact to a large extent as most sales were card-based. "Still, there is a loss of 15 per cent or so in cash sales and the situation is fast improving," he said.

Kaja, the head of the retail division, said the price range would be Rs 399 to Rs 1,799.
