Specialised packaging company Essel Propack Ltd (EPL) said on Wednesday that's its new plant in Mexico has started production.

In statement to the bourses, the company said that it had been prompted to open a new plant as the business had posted rapid growth in the last two years and its old plant had limited scope for expansion to cater to it.

Essel Propack Mexico has thus moved to a new and larger location at Cuautitlan Izcalli Industrial zone, which is 2.5 miles from the old facility.

“The old facility in Mexico City was running at full capacity. The location of the new plant is strategic as it will facilitate to pursue growth opportunities with new customers and in non-oral care segments,” the company said.

The plant was inaugurated by Mr Ashok Goel, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Essel Propack, along with the Counsellor of the Indian Embassy and major customers.

“The country is part of the emerging market which will continue to show tremendous growth in the years to come. The expansion is to maintain our leadership position in the business,” said Mr R. Chandrashekar, President, Essel Propack.
