Samir Kuckreja, former CEO and MD of Delhi-based restaurant chain Nirula’s, is advising hospitality firms on issues ranging from mergers and acquisition to fund-raising, through his new consultancy firm Tasanaya Hospitality. The company is acting as a strategic advisor to a Singapore-based software developer, Eat2Eat, which will start operations in India by next month. “ The company develops software for restaurants on the online dining platform. We are advising them about the Indian market and its dynamics,” Kuckreja said. Eat2Eat, which works with hospitality majors such as Starwood and Westin across 7-8 countries in South East Asia, will start with the Starwood group of hotels in India. The company is also looking at extending the technology to Indian hospitality majors and fine-dining restaurants such as HardRock Café and Shiros. Kuckreja, who quit Nirula’s after Malaysian private equity firm Navis Capital took complete control of the Delhi-based chain by buying out his stake for an undisclosed amount, is also advising restaurants looking to expand, sell out or attract private equity or venture capitalist funds.
