The Maharashtra Government is expected to receive an investment of Rs 5,000 crore and employment opportunity for 2000-5000 people with a group of German companies evincing investment interest in various sectors including manufacturing, automobile, agriculture, energy, IT, textile, wine and spirits.
The development follows Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ interaction with German businessmen in Hannover last month to promote ‘Make in Maharashtra’ programme.
Stephan Weil, Chief Minister of Lower Saxony, along with the German Indian Business Centre will lead a business delegation to explore investment opportunities in the State in next two weeks.
The German Indian Business Centre will also sign a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra Government to look at opportunity in various regions of Maharashtra including developing foundry industry in Kohlapur, agriculture and textile industry in Nagpur and Amravati, European Auto ancillaries in Pune, winery and spirits industry in Nasik and IT services in Mumbai and Pune.
