Godrej Security Solutions, a division of Godrej & Boyce Co Ltd, plans to ramp up its presence in tier 2 and tier 3 locations as it seeks to grow the revenue of its home safes business by more than 20 per cent this fiscal. From ₹220 crore in FY18, it expects to grow revenues to ₹270 crore in FY19.

“Presently, we have outlets in 110 districts. The network will be ramped up to 250 districts,” said Mehernosh Pithawalla, Vice-President and Global Head - Marketing, Sales and Innovation, Godrej Security Solutions.

‘Cashless’ uses

With the growing shift towards a less-cash economy, how many people would want safes at home?

Pithawalla pointed out that though the quantum of cash kept in homes has come down, people do use safes to store several other things such as jewellery, important documents and other valuables.

Earlier, Pithawalla launched the company’s first “home security experience zone” in the city. It exhibits electronic home security solutions, home safes (including the luxury Kruna safes), Wi Fi-based home security solutions and fire resistant and commercial safes. Prices start from ₹4,000 and go up to ₹10 lakh.

Godrej plans to open more such experience zones across the country this year.
