Drums Food International, which launched its Greek yoghurt brand Epigamia in 2015, is looking to set up a new production facility in South India to help scale up the brand.
Rohan Mirchandani, CEO and co-Founder, said: “We are scouting for a location to set up a production facility in the South. We haven’t yet finalised the location but we would look at States such as Karnataka or Andhra Pradesh.”
Talking about the company’s distribution strategy, Mirchandani said: “Currently, we directly distribute to the top five cities which include Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and the Delhi-NCR region. We believe we have just touched the tip of the iceberg and for the next six-eight months we will continue to focus on strengthening our distribution further in these cities.”
The company has also been getting demand from premium retailers and distributors in several other ancillary cities, such as Pune, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad.
Epigamia is currently available in over 4,500 retail outlets, which include modern format stores and general stores, besides being sold through the institutional channel. The company aims to expand its distribution to about 55,000 retail outlets in the next three years.
“We are targeting to earn gross sales of about ₹100 crore by this fiscal year-end,” Mirchandani added.
The company, which is backed by a clutch of investors, has so far raised about ₹155 crore.
Besides introducing new flavours, the company will use these funds to strengthen its research and development and supply chain.
Recently, it also launched Epigamia snack packs, targeted at the out-of-home consumption segment.
