Country's second largest car manufacturer Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) on Tuesday launched the much awaited all-new Santro priced at Rs.3.90 lakh to Rs.5.65 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory price across India).

The new Santro retaining its 'tall boy' design is Hyundai's R&D innovation mobility and is specially designed in India, for India, the company said.

The strong customer centric safety with strong body structure coupled with new age technology and cabin comfort will give the all new Santro a competitive edge, it said.

Powered by 1.1 L petrol engine it has 69ps @5500 rpm and maximum torque of 10.1 kgm per rpm. It gives a mileage of 20.3 kmpl (as per test conditions). The new Santro will be available on CNG option too.

"The Santro is an iconic and legendary brand in India that has won the hearts of millions of customers for last two decades. The magic of Santro continues with the all new Santro receiving overwhelming response in less than two weeks," YK Koo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, HMIL said here at the launch.

"The all new Santro is a true example of Hyundai's 'made in India' philosophy and a shining result of our numerous product clinics and rigorous durability test on various terrains in India. Our R&D centre in Namyang (South Korea), Chennai and Hyderabad have put strong efforts for product supremacy and utmost customer delight," he added.
