JT Special Vehicles (JTSV) Pvt Ltd, a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives has resolved to bring back the ‘joy of motoring’ in everyday commute with the launch of the JTP range of performance vehicles — the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP.
While both Tiago and Tigor are brands from the Tata stable, the JTP version of these vehicles have, according to JTSV sources, been designed and engineered to reverse the commoditisation of car purchase.
Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors, said the JTP products would be based on three essential pillars such as sporty exterior and interior design, enhanced engine output and performance and improved driving dynamics and aural experience.
JTSV would focus on design and development of performance cars, including uniquely styled parts. The capability of Tiago and Tigor have been further boosted with Jayem’s technical know-how of developing performance cars, Gubbi Nagbhushan, Chief Executive, JTSV, told BusinessLine on the sidelines of the launch.
The ex-showroom price of Tiago JTP (in New Delhi) is fixed at ₹6.39 lakh, while Tigor JTP, a lakh higher at ₹7.49 lakh.
