Keventer Group plans to invest Rs 700 crore for setting up a food park at Dankuni in West Bengal. To be spread over 530 acres, the food park will be commissioned over the next five years. “We will invest Rs 600-700 crore to develop a food park at Dankuni. And, there will be an investment of Rs 3,500 crore at the facility,” Mr Mayank Jalan, Managing Director, Keventer Agro Ltd, said on Saturday. The company on Saturday launched a food testing laboratory, Edward Food and Research and Analysis Centre Ltd, and a manufacturing unit for Yippee noodles jointly with ITC Ltd at Barasat. This facility will entail a total investment of nearly Rs 150 crore.
The West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Partha Chatterjee, confirmed that the State Government received a proposal from the company and it was in conversation for allocation of land for the upcoming food park.
