Philips has launched a new series of patient monitors, specifically designed for the Indian market, keeping in mind its needs.
These monitors which are priced from Rs 60,000 onwards has been priced affordably when compared to competitors but is also built for scalability which helps a hospital to add modules rather than buy new equipments every time patient intake surges, company officials said.
Talking to BusinessLine, Sameer Garde, President- South Asia for Philips Healthcare said that the company has come out with this range of patient monitors with an eye on improving affordability of these machines in Intensive Care Units (ICUs), which at present is very low in India compared to WHO recommendations.
According to estimates,there are around 70,000 ICUs in the country for a population of a billion people, which is very low.
