Piramal Glass, part of the Ajay Piramal Group, has posted a near three-fold rise in net profit at Rs 35.8 crore for the quarter-ended March 31, 2001, compared with Rs 12.2 crore logged in the corresponding period last year.
Net sales rose 16 per cent to Rs 329 crore (Rs 284 crore).
Operating EBIDTA was up 51 per cent at Rs 90 crore (Rs 60 crore).
Mr Vijay Shah, Managing Director, said, “Our focus on the high margin ‘premium' cosmetics and perfumery segment has led to a phenomenal 31 per cent EBIDTA in India”
On Thursday, the company's scrip was down 2.15 per cent at Rs 129.50 on the BSE.
