Reliance Industries Ltd Z(RIL) today appointed ex—bureaucrat Maheswar Sahu as an independent director on its board with immediate effect, taking the strength of the board to 14, with eight being non—executive directors.
The 60—year—old Sahu has had a distinguished career and was additional chief secretary for industries and mining with Gujarat, apart from having a decade—old stint at the Centre with the industry and infrastructure departments and three years with the UN.
Sahu holds a degree in electrical engineering and Master’s in public administration from the University of Birmingham in England.
