S K Nanda takes over as GSFC chief

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd (GSFC) on Friday informed that Dr S K Nanda, senior IAS officer of Government of Gujarat has taken over charge as the Chairman & Managing Director of the company from November 1, 2014.

Nanda, of the 1978 batch, was posted in the state secretariat as additional chief secretary – home.

Nanda, who holds a Masters degree in political science and law and a PhD in rural economics, has held key positions in the state government during his career. Some of the prominent and important departments he served included, home, health, tourism, information & broadcasting, finance, food & civil supply and forest & environment.

He has also served as assistant collector and collector in districts of Dang, Vadodara, Panchmahal, Banaskantha, Junagadh.

Nanda has most efficiently managed health camps and supervision of such camps during 2002, prevented outbreak of epidemics, an official statement said.

Nanda’s introduction of reforms in the financial packages and products for SME funding, pollution control, environment and coastal zone regulation have been remarkable.
