Global aerospace, defence and security leader Safran and Pune-based high technology components company, Bharat Forge have announced a long-term partnership to supply critical high integrity forged and machined components for commercial aircraft applications to Safran’s global affiliates.

The first step of this partnership is a purchase order issued today by Safran, Bharat Forge said in a statement.

Over the past 18 months, Safran and Bharat Forge have successfully collaborated on a demonstrator phase for initial trial production of critical forgings in a variety of materials, including titanium, nickel based and steel alloys, for use in aerospace.

Both companies will also seek to explore and address other opportunities in Indian aerospace for civil and military sectors.
