Food ordering and delivery platform Swiggy on Tuesday announced the launch of Swiggy Stores, its new on-demand delivery service that promises to deliver everyday needs to customers by bringing every store in their city to their doorsteps.
Stores will now be a part of the Swiggy app and deliver from outlets across categories including fruits and vegetables, flowers, health and supplements, organic and gourmet food, meat and pet care. After customers decide what they want delivered from a store, they just need to list the items and Swiggy will deliver it. The new service will also connect users to popular stores and list bestsellers.
Currently piloting in Gurugram, Swiggy is already delivering from over 3,500 stores, including more than 200 merchant-partners like Ferns and Petals, Le Marche, Needs Supermarket, Licious, Apollo and Guardian Pharmacy.
Swiggy will leverage its delivery fleet of 1.25 lakh active partners to make deliveries for Swiggy Stores, giving them an additional avenue to generate income.
