India needs to take some lessons from China and bring in financial institutions to exclusively fund renewable projects, Upendra Tripathy, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy said on Thursday.
Population and resource-stressed China has long been focusing its attention on developing renewable energy and has four such institutions for funding such projects. Tripathy, who was addressing a workshop on ‘Conceptualising a Framework for Solar Resource Data in India’ conducted by the FICCI, also highlighted the need for a national policy on renewable energy to attract more investments in the sector.
