Employees of 10 sick Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) under the Department of Heavy Industry may get some monetary relief.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Thursday approved the payment of statutory dues, salaries and wages of CPSEs such as Hindustan Cable, Scooters India and HMT Ltd, among others.
Budgetary aid
The Government has provided budgetary support of Rs 53.16 crore to help mitigate the hardships of employees of these loss-making units and prepare them to achieve the goal of restructuring these companies.
