Chennai is set to host Auto World Expo 2011. The four-day expo at Chennai Trade Centre, scheduled to begin on June 23, is organised by Benchmark Exhibitions India and supported by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association, Federation of Indian Higher Purchase Association, Motor Sports Clubs and Chennai Regional Indian Oil Dealers Association.
According to Mr Abhishek Bafna, Managing Director of Benchmark Exhibitions, most major auto majors including Mercedes, BMW, Mahindra and Honda will showcase their products in the expo. Mr Bafna said the event is intended to be an educative convention and will discuss the issues impacting the industry and steps to be taken to improve the environment for all stakeholders through seminars, lectures from experts and interactive sessions.
According to him, the purpose of organising this event is to strengthen the relationship between financiers, automobile manufacturers, insurance companies, banks, dealers and consumers.
The organisers expect at least 8,000 visitors a day during the expo and an entry fee of Rs 50 is proposed to be charged from those without invitation.
