Consulting and marketing firms were the biggest recruiters at the Great Lakes campus this year. The 2011 class of Post Graduate Programme in Management comprised 296 students.
This year, 121 companies participated in the placements, an increase of 59 per cent over last year, says a release from Great Lakes Institute of Management.
The average salary of the class was Rs 9.45 lakh a year while the highest salary offered was Rs 24 lakh by a US consulting firm, adds the release.
The highest number of offers was made by companies from consulting (companies such as ZS Associates, Deloitte, PWC, Ernst and Young, Cognizant Business Consulting and Accenture), technology (Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Mindtree and Mahindra Satyam)and Banking, financial services and Insurance (YES Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank) in that order.
