The US-based immigration consulting firm, Kenn Morris America, is offering its services to investors who intend to obtain permanent resident status (Green Card) in the US.
“One has to invest anything between Rs 5 lakh to $1 million in the projects approved by the US Government to be considered for a temporary Green Card for the entire family,'' Mr Jasdeep Singh, Vice-President (Operations), Kenn Morris America, told newspersons here on Thursday.
About 10,000 visas are given every year by the US for investors under the EB-5 Green Card Programme.
The returns on the investment would be nominal at about one per cent and there is no guarantee for investment as it is completely subjected to market risks.
Further, the temporary Green Card would only be made permanent only if funds from each single investor could generate sustainable employment for at least 10 per cent, Mr Singh said.
A consultancy fee of $7,500 would be charged by Kenn Morris.
The EB-5 visas are not popular in India and in 2010, only 62 visas were obtained from the country.
