Debashis Chakraborti, the Associate Director of the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) here, has bagged the DRDO ‘scientist of the year — 2011' award, according to a press release.
Dr Chakraborti was given the award for his “outstanding contribution in the design and indigenous development of critical technology systems like optimised structural shells, sunken torpedo recovery system, and stored chemical energy propulsion system.”
The award will be presented by the Prime Minister. Dr S.V Rangarajan, the Director of NSTL, and the staff complimented Dr Chakraborti on the occasion.
